English record producers David Gates and Malcolm Stanners and percussionist and vocalist Andy Rose from Surrey made a name for themselves during the 1990s as Salt Tank. With a sample from Tori Amos‘ ‘Me And A Gun’ they created the track ‘Eugena’ which reached number 40 in the UK Singles Chart in May 1996. The track ‘Swell’, also released in 1996, featured a sample of The Man With The Child In His Eyes.

Both tracks appeared on their debut album ‘Science & Nature’ (1996). It was followed in 1997 by the album ‘Wavebreaks’. They continued to release albums on promotional CDRs, until the turn of the century.

Vocalist Andy Rose died in November 2012 following a fight with cancer.
