Mr. Conte is an anonymous dance act from Italy. For their version of Wuthering Heights they used the vocal talents of Laura Valente, who was born on 3 September 1963 in Milan, Italy. She started out as a moderately successful solo artist at the age of 21, then joined the popular Italian band Matia Bazar in 1990 after their lead vocalist Antonella Ruggiero left the band. At the end of the 1990’s, Valente left the band to retire momentarily from the music scene, devoting herself to her private life.
After four years, she returned to the recording studio, recording ‘Wuthering Heights’ with Mr. Conte. There are five different remixes of the track, released on 12″ vinyl and CD.
