Formed in 1990, Dark Orange is an ethereal wave band from Hamburg, Germany. They debuted with the album ‘Oleander’ in 1991. Big success followed a year later with the album ‘The Garden Of Poseidon’. It featured a gothic rendition of Paul Simon’s ‘Sounds Of Silence’ and a cover version of Kate Bush’s The Man With The Child In His Eyes. The band broke up in 1993.

Original members Dirk Knight and Katrin Wegener reformed in 2008, releasing Dark Orange’s third album ‘Clouds, Paperships and Fallen Angels’ two years later. It was produced by Folker Alberts and mastered by Robin Guthrie of the Cocteau Twins. Another album, ‘Horizont’, appeared in 2012.
