The College Music Journal New Music Awards are organised annually since the 1980’s.
In 1986, Kate won the award for Best Female Artist. The award was accepted on her behalf by John Mrvos from EMI, but Kate sent her own, rather unique video as well. The ceremony was broadcast in the USA in November 1986.
