Born as John Charles Morgan on 9 August 1955, Charlie Morgen became a professional drummer in 1973. He joined the original KT Bush band in the mid-1970’s.

He was Kate’s drummer on the Tour Of Life and also plays drums on the songs Wow, Kashka From Baghdad, The Big Sky, Waking The Witch, The Sensual World, Reaching Out, Deeper Understanding, Walk Straight Down The Middle, and Rocket Man and percussion on Hounds Of Love, Cloudbusting, Jig of Life, and The Song Of Solomon.

By the mid-1980s, Charlie Morgan had become one of the top session drummers in the UK. In the 1980s he played on albums by artists including Elton John, Roy Harper, Pete Townshend, Judie Tzuke, Clannad, Tracey Ullman, Gary Moore, Justin Hayward and Nik Kershaw.

Morgan co-wrote the theme music to the ITV TV series, ‘The Bill’ with bassist Andy Pask. He currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee (USA). He runs an independent, home-based studio, Manicdrums Productions, where he records drum tracks for clients from all over the world.
