John Carder Bush, also known as Jay, was born in 1944. He is Kate’s eldest brother. He has taken many of the famous photographs and album cover photos of Kate and can be heard singing or reciting on several tracks including Army Dreamers and Jig of Life. John read from his own work between songs during the Tour Of Life performances. Books have been published of his poetry and photography, most notably the highly collectible book Cathy which consists of portraits of his sister taken during her childhood. He has given readings of his poetry on radio and was published several times in the Poetry Review and has written several contributions to the Kate Bush Club Newsletter over the years. In November 2005 he published a novel called ‘The Cellar Gang’. In October 2015 he published Inside The Rainbow, a book of photographs of Kate Bush from throughout her career.
